Parking rules!
Slow down!
Approach/exit at walking speed so you can stop instantly.
Stop before the sidewalk!
Always come to a full stop at the property line or sidewalk edge, then look both ways.
Yield to pedestrians: children and guardians always have priority — wait until the path is clear.
Check blind spots and mirrors: scan left, right, front, rear, and use your doors to peek if needed.
Avoid reversing across pedestrian routes:
back in/out only if necessary, and do so very slowly while watching for children.
Use a spotter:
have a passenger step out to guide you when visibility is poor, or when children are present.
Signal early and clearly:
Use indicators and brake lights so children and drivers know your intention.
Don’t idle or stop mid-path: never pause on sidewalks, drive aisles, or crosswalks while dropping off/picking up.
Minimize distractions: phones, maps, and conversation off; focus on surroundings from the moment you move.
No sudden moves: avoid fast turns or accelerating that could startle children or cyclists.
Respect crossing guards/teachers: follow their directions immediately.
Use designated drop-off points: park legally and walk children the last short distance when possible.
Watch for bicycles/scooters: many kids use bikes — give them extra clearance and time.
Night/poor light: use headlights/hazard lights appropriately and exercise extra caution.
Thank you for being careful!
Please turn off the air conditioner when not in the apartment.
It would take only a few minutes for the machines to cool or heat the apartment again. Thank you!

Discovering Tokyo by bicycle is a fun way to explore the city, offering you a wider range of sights and sounds that might otherwise be missed if you are traveling on other forms of public transport.
Bicycle usage
Make sure you are aware of local laws regarding cycling in the city. As a general rule, keep to the left, keep your speed down, and be aware of pedestrians.
You should use bicycle lanes when they’re available, which are marked with bicycle symbols.
Cyclists are expected to wear a helmet.
Also, make sure to park your bicycle in a designated parking area. If you park anywhere outside of these areas, there is a high chance that your bike will be impounded.
Please cycle safely, following the traffic rules stated on the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department‘s website. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government ordinance requires all cyclists to be covered by liability insurance.
